The MGM Perspective: A Guideline into the Mixed World

2024 · Paperback, Hardcover

The MGM Perspective is an eye-opening book about the mixed-race society. A society which, though it is global, is not recognized. When people think of mixed race, they only know of a person who is an offspring of two people of different races. MGM stands for multigenerational mixed-race. This is a person that comes from a long line of mixed-race people. A prime example of an MGM society would be Latin America and the Caribbean. Of course, people of an MGM background are in the United States. Only now are people starting to accept the history of their families. They too are people of personal diversity. For black and white mixed people, which this book is about, it is a comparison of the recognition of being mixed race from the Caribbean-American perspective.

Read the full synopsis

The author is an MGM. He speaks about experiences from the United States and the Caribbean. The pros and the cons. The book shows the reductive ideologies in the States that contrast with the more accepted and liberal ideologies of the Caribbean. It also shows the negative side of the mixed-race experience in the Caribbean, but focuses on the positive. It encourages people to learn about their personal diversity and to embrace it.

So… What’s Wrong With Being Mixed?

2025 · Paperback

“So…What’s Wrong With Being Mixed?” is the third installment in the “Mixed Collection” series by global author Philip Timothy Arnell. It directly confronts society on its view of multiracial/biracial people, and the different experiences and scenarios they face on a daily basis.

It points out the different behaviors of those who can’t seem to relate to or understand a group of people who are exactly like themselves, but with a mixed ancestry. Some are innocently curious and others are derogatory in their approach.

Some are mixed people themselves, and can’t seem to get a grasp on their natural dynamic due to the pressures of society. This book is to show people that there is nothing wrong with having personal diversity: recognizing and respecting others, especially themselves. Accept mixed people for how they are. As for mixed-race people in general? Embrace and accept yourselves. You have a lot to appreciate. That’s what is right about being mixed.
